Today was a very long day, especially for Mom and Dad. They had to fly from Idaho Falls to SLC, switch planes and fly from SLC to Seattle, go on the subway at the Seattle airport and switch planes, fly from Seattle to Vancouver. We almost lost them at customs, but after about an hour wait, we met up with them and were on our way to Carnival's cruise ship Spirit. Wendy & Scott beat us there by a few hours so they met us as we came aboard. They flew from SLC to Denver and then Denver to Vancouver. Wendy had a cold so she had to be checked out by the ship's doctor. Kendra, Derek, & Becky flew from SLC to LA and then barely made their connecting flight from LA to Vancouver. We were very glad to finally meet up with Mom and Dad and head to the ship. We waited in line for a taxi and got a great driver to take us to the ship. After waiting in lines and showing passports and getting pictures, we finally made it to our rooms. Wendy & Scott were in room 6229, Mom & Dad were in 4217, and Kendra, Derek, & Becky were in room 4232. We got a light lunch, took some pictures, and then relaxed a little. We went to dinner at 6pm and Mom slept through most of it. Everything was very fancy and we kind of felt out of place. Oh well, we decided to eat at the buffet places and get some ice cream. It was an exhausting first day. We set sail at 5pm and were getting used to the rocking of the ship. We were all relieved and thrilled to finally be on our way to ALASKA!!!
Oh yah! We made it to the ship!
